50 year old African Tikar Mask

Hand carved in Cameroon early 1960 This ancient ritual masks are used in the tribe’s dancing rituals. The eyebrows are covered in red copper plates and copper inlays running along the cheeks. 

With the gradual westernisation of African countries, genuine trial masks are becoming increasingly rare.

This particular mask comes direct from the Tikar Tribe and dates back to the early 1960s
